Stamps Design
This stamp series are designed for the American landscape and introduce the best cities and places for traveling in different seasons. I chose four cities and places to make the stamps.
For design concept, the four colorful stamps were designed with a similar style and design elements to make them in a series. For example, they all used chalk brush to create the textures and had patterned background. They all had a lighting effects and used same fonts for the title.
For the pane, because this project is for America, I made the pane background with some elements form the American flag like the stars, navy, white and red color. Because my stamps are very colorful, I just used the solid color on the background and tried to keep it simple to make the stamps stand out.
Certainly, each stamp also works as an individual picture. Each of them was a complete illustration and include the most famous elements of the cities in different seasons. The illustrations also created with the main colors of four seasons like pink for the spring, green for the summer, yellow for the autumn, white and blue for the winter. I will introduce each stamp later.
Stamp for Spring
Washington DC is the most popular tourist destination in spring. The cherry blossoms and the White House are making a good picture for the traveler. Therefore, for the spring stamp, I created the silhouette of the White House with cherry blossoms’ pattern. I use pink and round shape to show the soft feeling in spring.
Stamp for Summer
For the summer stamp, Key West, Florida is a wonderful place to enjoy the sunshine and sea sport. I illustrated two famous attractions in Key West. They are the cross-sea bridge and the road sign for the beginning of the Route One USA. I made some, square, ice cube’s shape on the background and use blue-green to fill the sea to show the fresh feeling for the sea and summer.
Stamp for Autumn
Vermont has prettiest maple leaves and colorful mountains in the autumn. I chose it as my Fall travelling place. For the Autumn stamp, I used yellow, orange, and ember to create the mountain to show the colorful Autumn mountains in Vermont. Also, I made the leaves shape to show the leaves falling down during the Autumn.
Stamp for Winter
For winter stamp, Aspen, Colorado has great snow mountains for skiing and snowboarding, and I chose it to be my target place. I created the ice mountains with shape corners and used triangle to show ice’s hard and sharpness. I made some color gradient on the mountains to show the snow reflection and used cold color combination to show the winter’s cold.
