“Tentacles Monster” Typeface Illustration

In this project, I used three different typefaces to create three animal illustrations. It's a creative way to use typefaces. Also, it's a good try for me to combine design and illustration together.

OCTOPUS in Milk Script

The octopus is a invertebrate animal in the sea. It has eight strong and powerful tentacles with sucks. I use the typeface, "MILK Script," to make the octopus that because the big contrast of the strokes. The  design of  the letter " S" is my favorate in this font. I use it to make the octopus' tentacles. The thick part of the letter can show the power of the octopus' tentacles. Also, the round shape of these letters are fit the soft features of the octopus.

Jellyfish in Tangier

The jellyfish is a kind of colorful and soft animal under the sea. It has many light, thin, and long tentacles. I use "Tangier" as the the typeface to illustrate the jellyfish. "Tangier" is a script font, and it looks flow, light and soft. It is perfect fit the the feelling that I want to make for the jellyfish. Especially, the letters "J" and "f", they are my faverate letters' design in this font, and I used them so many times to make the jellyfish's tentacles, and it looks perfect.

Squid in HucklebuckJF

The squid is a soft invertebrate animal under the sea. It has several short tentacles and two long tentales. I choose "HucklebuckJF" as my design font to make the squid.  "HucklebuckJF" has a special design of letters "D" and "s". I use the "D" to make the squid head shape and it is pefect fitting on it. I used the "s" that has round and flow shape to make the short tentacles.
